The Y+ Global Management Board 2024

Are you a young person living with HIV and passionate about making a difference in your community, country, region and globally? We are looking for committed youth advocates to join the Board of the Global Network of Young People Living with HIV (Y+ Global).

Program Details

The Global Network of Young People Living with HIV (Y+ Global) was founded in 2013 as a youth program by the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+). In 2021, Y+ Global became independent and was legally registered in the Netherlands as a foundation. Y+ Global is the largest global network of young people living with HIV, spanning over 41 countries.

Our mission is to empower young people affected by HIV, giving them a voice in political and programmatic spaces. We advocate for their rights and health, bringing together youth from diverse backgrounds to connect with global decision-makers.

They empower young leaders to design, lead, and manage programs addressing critical health and human rights issues, including HIV, TB, Malaria, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, and Gender-Based Violence.

Benefit

  • Serving as a board member at Y+ Global allows young leaders to network with other professionals, activists, and advocates in the field of global health, particularly in HIV/AIDS and SRH advocacy. This can lead to collaboration opportunities, mentorship, and future career prospects;
  • Board members will have the chance to develop and enhance various skills such as leadership, communication, strategic planning, project management, advocacy, and decision-making through their involvement in board meetings and workshops and representing Y+ Global at various events;
  • Being a board member provides access to exclusive workshops, training sessions, and educational resources aimed at developing leadership and advocacy skills, which can be valuable for personal and professional growth;
  • By representing Y+ Global at meetings and events, young leaders have the opportunity to voice the concerns, perspectives, and needs of young people affected by HIV/AIDS on a global platform. This allows them to influence policies, programs, and decisions that impact the HIV/AIDS community worldwide;
  • Serving on the board of Y+ Global can contribute to personal and professional growth by providing opportunities for self-reflection, learning, and development in a supportive and collaborative environment;
  • Board members may gain visibility and recognition for their contributions and leadership, which can enhance their credibility, reputation, and future opportunities in their respective fields.

Eligibility

To apply, young leaders must be

  • Under the age of 30 from the time of applying;
  • Be a national/citizen from one of the countries in the regions listed above;
