Researcher and Writer

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

Work Experience:

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, market research, or a related field, with a strong understanding of financial markets and instruments.
  • Experience in journalism or financial reporting is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial information into accessible and engaging news and research articles.
  • Previous experience in public speaking or media appearances is advantageous.

Editor

Job Description

  • Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax in articles
  • Verify facts, dates, and statistics using standard reference sources.
  • Read, evaluate, and edit article drafts or other materials submitted for publication and confer with authors regarding changes in content, style, organization, or publication to suit Nairametric’s writing style.
  • Develop story or content ideas, considering reader or audience appeal.
  • Prepare, rewrite, and edit copy to improve readability or supervise others who do this work.
  • Work with the team to plan and manage the drafting of op-eds, articles, newsletters, web copy, etc.

Basic Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience as a Media Editor
  • Excellent writing skills in English, especially as applied to press communication, financial terms, and other news content
  • Expert level proficiency as a proofreader;
  • Experience working across digital platforms (websites, mobile, blogs, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain focus and detail orientation when processing large amounts of information or copy
  • Ability to collaborate with writers to understand their writing needs and maximize their impact
  • Experience coordinating and executing a substantial overhaul/revision of a website’s content, including working with developers and designers

Tech Analyst

Responsibilities

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • Proven experience in marketing leadership roles, with at least three years of experience, preferably in the media or financial industry.

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Profiles, Career and Financial Literacy to deliver confident writing at multiple levels of sophistication.
  • Cover profiles and career and financial literacy effectively and in a timely manner, daily and weekly, and be abreast of all news.
  • Ensure timely breaking news across your beats and other beat-assigned
  • Edit and compile daily Newsletter and Corporate news round-up
  • Conduct interviews and represent the company at functions, Press briefings and general events
  • Cover all categories of stories according to the Nairametrics content plan, i.e. features, explainers, listicles, how-tos, etc.

Head of Marketing
