IHE Delft Institute for water education is a part of a Consortium that is made of 20 partners who are awarded grants recently by the European Commission for the project intelligent water Treatment Technologies for water preservation that has been combined with simultaneous energy production and material recovery in energy-intensive industries (intelWATT).

About the IHE Delft PhD Fellowship Linked to the intelWATT H2020 Project 2020-2024

This Project that would be taking place for almost 4 years (2020-2024) places it attention in developing innovative, cost-efficient, Smart separation technologies applied in energy and water-intensive industries. In this context water supply, sanitation and environmental Engineering (WSSEE) department of IHE Delft is now recruiting a PhD fellow, who would be graduating from the Co-operation with Delft University of Technology.

Fellowship Details

The follow the allowance as stipulated by the Immigration Office IND of 1270.08 Euros/month (net). Plus, insurance, residence permit, and book allowance would be made available.

The fellowship would be taking place for a duration of four years. The position would be based in Delft, the Netherlands.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the IHE Delft PhD Fellowship Linked to the intelWATT H2020 Project 2020-2024, all candidates looking forward to participating are expected to meet the eligibility criteria available for the Fellowship. They include:

  • The PhD fellow is expected to be in possession of an MSc degree in Chemical engineering with a strong focus on desalination. (if all candidates who are in possession of this profile do not emerge, candidates with a background in civil engineering, environmental engineering, and environmental sciences would also get considered.
  • The PhD fellow is expected to not be new to working in Laboratory; Previous experience on water quality analyses (both chemical and Microbiological) and with the operation of pilot plants is required.
  • The PhD fellow is expected to be proficient in oral and written English;
  • The fellow is expected to be able to work independently and as a member of a team; he/she is expected to be creative, eager, and flexible to learn and expand his/her scientific network.

How to Apply

The application is expected to include Curriculum vitae (with a Passport photo), a Motivation letter, Abstract of MSc thesis, a sample of scientific writing, and the contact details of basically two referees (one PDF file with the name of your family as the filename).

All application is expected to be in English and must be sent to n.dhakal@un-ihe.org before October 10, 2020.

Note: Only candidates who are shortlisted would be required to send originally certified photocopies of their academic transcripts and originally certified photocopies of academic diplomas (of BSc and/or MSc degrees), a copy of your passport photograph, two reference letters, and the result of an IELTS or TOEFL test if it is applicable.
