This is to inform the general public about the Kogi State Polytechnic HND Admission Form for the 2024/2025 Academic Session. Official details about the form are given below.
Application forms for admission into the Kogi State Polytechnic’s regular Programmes (HND) for the 2024/2025 Academic Session are now on sale. The Polytechnic offers the following courses:-
SCHOOL OF APPLIED SCIENCES
Higher National Diploma in:
- Computer Science
- Statistics
- Science Laboratory Technology(Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Environmental Biology)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a. Higher National Diploma in Computer Science (Two Years)
Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Computer Science and a minimum lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics and Physics are compulsory at the credit level. Credit in any other Science and Social Science subjects is also required, with one (1) year of compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
b. Higher National Diploma in Statistics (Two Years)
Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Statistics. They must have a minimum lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings, which must include English Language and Mathematics with any other three Science or Social Science subjects required. In addition, the candidate must have at least one (1) year of compulsory industrial training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training.
c. Higher National Diploma in Science and Laboratory Technology (Two Years)
With options in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Environmental Biology. Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology and a minimum lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics are compulsory at the credit level. A credit in any other science subject and Social Science subject is also required, with one (1) year of compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
SCHOOL OF ART’S DESIGN AND PRINTING
Higher National Diploma in:
- Industrial Design with Options in Graphics, Textiles and Ceramics
- Fine Arts, with Options in Painting and Sculpture
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Industrial Design with options and Fine Arts with options (2.0(a) and 2.0(b)) must possess a National Diploma in Fine Arts. They must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings English Language, Mathematics, Fine Arts or Visual Arts, Chemistry, History, Biology, Literature in English, Clothing and Textiles, Religious Knowledge and any other Sciences. In addition, candidates must have one (1) year of compulsory industrial training or a pass in ND, with a result of two (2) years of compulsory industrial training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGYÂ
Higher National Diploma in:
- Mineral Resources Engineering (Two Years)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTSÂ
a. Higher National Diploma Mineral/Petroleum Resources Engineering (Two Years)
With options in the following:
- Mining Engineering Technology
- Geological Engineering Technology
- Mineral Processing Engineering Technology
Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Mineral Resources Engineering. They must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics and Chemistry and any three subjects from Metalwork, Technical-Drawing, Basic Electronics, and Geography. Such a candidate must have one (1) year of compulsory industrial training or a pass in ND, resulting in two (2) years of compulsory industrial training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
b. Higher National Diploma Metallurgical and Material Engineering (Two Years)
Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Metallurgical and Material Engineering. They must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any three subjects of Science. Such a candidate must have one (1) year of compulsory industrial training or a pass in ND, resulting in two (2) years of compulsory industrial training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGYÂ
Higher National Diploma in:
a. Urban and Regional Planning
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Urban and Regional Planning must possess a National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings English Language, Mathematics, and Geography and any two subjects from the followings; Economics, Physics, Biology/Agriculture Science, Fine Art. In addition, candies must have one (1) year of compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES
Higher National Diploma in:
- Accountancy
- Business Administration and Management
- Library and Information Science
- Office Technology and Management
- Public Administration
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a. Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (Two Years)
Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Accountancy and have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language and Mathematics are compulsory at the credit level. A credit in any other science and social science subject is also required, with one (1) year of compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.
b. Higher National Diploma in Business Administration and Management (Two Years)
Same as (5.1a) above, but the qualification must be a National Diploma in business Administration.
c. Higher National Diploma in Library and Information Science (Two Years)
Same as (5.1a) above, but the qualification must be a National Diploma in Library and Information Science and at least a credit pass in one science subject at the O’level.
d. Higher National Diploma in Office Technology and Management (Two Years)
Same as (5.1a) above, but the qualification must be a National Diploma in Office Technology and Management.
e. Higher National Diploma in Public Administration (Two Years)
Same as (5.1a) above, but the qualification must be a National Diploma in Public Administration and at least a credit pass in Government or Civic Education at the O level.
METHOD OF APPLICATIONÂ
Qualified candidates are advised to generate two different RRR numbers for the Admission form and the screening fee from the Polytechnic portal https://portal.kogistatepolytechnic.edu.ng/pd_dip/ApplicationFTÂ and proceed to make payment as follows:
All Applicants must submit hard copies of their Credentials to the Polytechnic Admission office on or before the Screening date.
