This article is to inform students of LASPOTECH and the general public about LASPOTECH Resumption Date for 2019/2020 Academic Session. The management of LASPOTECH has announced the date for the resumption of academic activities for the 2019/2020. ND and HND students are to resume school from the 14th of September 2020 in an arranged pattern.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, all academic activities were kept on hold in order to avoid more spread of the virus. Different strategies were put into action in order to curb the virus and enable the country and the world to return back to our normal everyday life. Academic activities were postponed indefinitely as the entire country embarked on lockdown resulting in a great loss of academic session.

Effects of COVID 19 on the Educational System
In order to avoid more spread of the deadly virus, COVID 19, the government took decisions that were painful to all in the country and one of them was that all academic activities be shut down. This is because schools (Primary, Secondary, and Higher Institutions) carry a massive crowd of students, which might result in the spread of the disease. The virus did a lot of damage to the educational system, we will be outlining few:
- The indefinite postponement of the Senior Secondary School exams (WAEC, NECO)
- The indefinite postponement of the first school leaving certificate and the BECE.
- The indefinite postponement of tertiary education, leaving students to sit at home for a period of almost five months.
These are but a few of the effects of COVID 19 in the educational system, we would not want to dwell on painful memories.

LASPOTECH Resumption Pattern
The management of the institution has announced the date for resumption. However, resumption will follow a particular pattern in order to avoid any more spread of the virus and so the following is the pattern for the resumption of academic activities:
- Higher National Diploma (HND) I and (HND) II will resume on Monday, 14th September 2020. Classes will be taken on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The time is 9 am – 2 pm.
- National Diploma will resume school on Monday, 21st September 2020. ND students will take classes on Tuesday and Thursday. The classes will start at 9 am and end at 2pm.
- ND II students will be resuming on Monday, 5th October 2020 to conclude their remaining examinations.
The following arrangement is subject to the approval of the senate.
Students of LASPOTECH should kindly stay away from the school premises if it is not their lecture day to avoid harassment. Students should kindly go with their means of identification and always wear a facemask to the school.
