Disciplinary measures have been published by the management of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) against all kinds of examination misconducts. It is expected that students comply with the examination rules and regulations as published by the institution to avert sanctions.

UNIABUJA Examination Misconduct and Disciplinary Measures

The following are the examination misconduct as well as the disciplinary measures as published by the management of the institution.

Misconduct Disciplinary Measures
Refusing to be identified and/or searched at the entrance of the examination hall and/or refusing to show on the desk examination slip The Chief Invigilator will prohibit the students from entering the examination hall for that paper and the course will be treated as carryover
Leaving the hall of the examination without obtaining permission Self-expulsion from the hall of the examination to be duly reported and sanctioned by the Chief Invigilator. The paper will also be treated as a carry-over
Being rude to the invigilator during the examination characterized by insolence, verbal abuse, unsavory comments, disobedience, etc Rustication for one semester
Threat and/or physical violence on the invigilator or any staff of the University in the course of the examination matters Expulsion from the University
Disrupting the examination characterized by threat to life, violent behaviour etc Expulsion from the University
Disturbing during the course of the examination characterized by speaking to other candidate(s) while examination is ongoing, frequent unauthorized movement, making of noise, etc The Chief Invigilator warns on the first instance and expels student(s) from the examination hall on subsequent infraction and the course will be treated as carry-over
Possessing dangerous weapons in and around the venue of the examination Expulsion from the University
Coming late to the examination hall, there may be admission of a student into the examination hall 30 minutes into the examination There will no extra time allowed
Exchange of information written on the question paper, four-figure table etc Rustication for one academic session
Possessing and using of unauthorized electronic devices that can compromise the examinations integrity, GSM phones, Mp3 players, programmable calculators, palm tops, wrist watches inclusive Expulsion from the University
Possessing unauthorized materials extraneous to the examination Rustication from the University for one semester
Unauthorized possession and/or use of answer booklets, continuation sheets, and other

examination materials by means of stealing smuggling, buying printing, and substitution of answer booklet, etc

Expulsion from the University
Possessing and/or concealing cheat materials in or writing on any part of the body and/or clothes Expulsion from the University
Attempt to destroy exhibit(s) after being caught by chewing, tearing, and defacing of the exhibit or resisting apprehension (which includes running away) with the exhibit Expulsion from the University
Possessing an answer booklet that has already being written at the end of the examination Expulsion from the University
Swapping of examination booklet(s) Expulsion from the University
Refusing to submit answer booklet after the conduction of the examination Expulsion from the University
Aiding and abetting cheating characterized by:

Giving false information such as name, registration number, course

Giving false evidence to the Examination Misconduct Committee

Acting as courier of materials that can compromise the integrity of the examination

Rustication from the University for one semester
Involvement in examination leakage Expulsion from the University
Intimidating/harassing staff just to leak examination questions Expulsion from the University
Impersonating (both the impersonator and collaborator) Expulsion from the University
Failure to appear before the committee after three (3) invitations on Examinations Mis-Conduct Expulsion from the University
Altering of examination slip intentionally, identify Card number and photograph Expulsion from the University
Writing examinations of the university in an unauthorized venue(s) within or outside the premises of the university Expulsion from the University
Refusal to write a statement of regulation infraction Expulsion from the University
